N.1 Hotel in Milan According to Tripadvisor – The Street Milano Boutique Hotel

My first trip abroad after lockdown – nothing less than the best!

If you love charts as much as I do, you might be intrigued by experiencing the hotel that scores number 1 of 443 hotels in a beautiful city like Milan, famous for its design and good taste.

How does this place look and feel like?

I tried it last weekend and had the fun of my life. The place is super friendly and has the typical Italian touch, so I immediately saw it would be perfect for a girlie weekend with my friend and running companion Holly Zimmermann .

Here is my personal review of it, on a scale from 1 to 10.

Service: 10

The hotel staff contacted us before our stay to ask if we need a private transfer from the airport, if we want to have some tips for restaurants in Milan or book a guided tour.

They are available 24/7 and immediately answer any whatsapp message (how much better than the phone is that? One can obviously call them from the room, but personally I loved ordering breakfast and asking questions that way) really is the best feature of this place. Is it politically not correct to mention that the two girls at reception are super cute and have the most friendly smile ever?

To give you an idea of how at home one can feel in this hotel, I’ll tell you a conversation I overheard while having breakfast  on the terrace. One of the guests asked for a hot chocolate. The girl who was serving them said, in the cutest tone:

We don’t have hot chocolate, but I am going to make you something similar. If you don’t like it, you don’t have to drink it!

That gave us all a big smile (and the couple did finish their drink).

Location: 10

You can’t beat being at the  iconic Milan gallery, the oldest and most elegant shopping mall in Milan. Located 20 mt. from it, The Street Duomo Milano is also one minute from the famous Cathedral and from La Scala Theatre. With a two minutes walk one can also reach the fashion square, and numerous museums and shops. Absolutely the best.

A stone’s throw from the Street Milano Duomo Hotel: the Museum of ‘900, overlooking the Dome.

Rooms: 9

It is a small boutique hotel with only 8 rooms which gives you a lot of privacy. The rooms are modern and  beautifully designed, extremely clean and well presented. We stayed in a family suite room of about 50 square meters with 2 bedrooms, but the hotel also has rooms with 1 bedroom as the receptionist told usWhat I liked most was the typical Milanese palazzo style, with its cute hidden courtyard and some green in the middle. Space is good but not extremely generous, given the old structure that has been maintained. The hotel occupies the whole building of 5 floorsThe staircase to go to reception also isn’t huge, but once you arrive there, or higher up on the communal terrace overlooking the city rooftops, you’ll love the amount of natural light and cozy feeling.

Favorite spot at the hotel: meeting room and terrace overlooking the Milan rooftops

Breakfast: 9

You can enjoy the continental breakfast with a la cartè menu both on the hotel rooftop terrace or directly in your room, and the breakfast is very good quality, with many organic or biologic products. Fresh pastries, various types of bread and coffee are excellent, omelettes too. If you have special requests (ask on whatsapp!), the staff will do anything to find what you need.

Value for Money: 10

Check out prices online to see what I mean: The Street Milano Duomo isn’t cheap, but it’s certainly a bargain compared to anything else in such a location.  I can highly recommend it for your next stay in the city – do write  to me or contact them if you need more information.

The family suite offers space and good design, right in the middle of the city centre.
