Fit for a Duke (and a Duchess)
If you picture Geneva in your mind, you’ll probably imagine its beautiful city centre, the blue lake waters and the famous Jet D’Eau fountain. It’s one minute from there, in one of the most prestigious buildings in the Square du Mont-Blanc, immaculate after its recent renovation, that you’ll find Hotel Bristol Geneva.
Recently awarded the Boutique and Design Hotel label by Switzerland Tourism and still family owned (it has belonged to the Jaquelot-du-Boisrouvray family since 1972), the hotel belongs to a woman, a Duchess. There’s a cool photo of her holding her reading glasses, in a bit of a secondary position (near the hotel lifts), while her father’s portrait, more formal, welcomes you at reception. That already explains the feeling at Hotel Bristol Geneva, with its fresh, approachable luxury. Elegance is everywhere, but nothing is intimidating.
A Peaceful World
I decided to spend a weekend there with Polina, the Ukrainian girl who is staying at our place for the reasons we all know, and forget about negative things for a short while. And hey, did we forget. A city walk, a tour of the hotel rooms and suites that have just been decorated (always interesting to see the latest trends!), then a quick stop at the spa to soak into the bubbles surrounded by bamboos, a dinner in Paris (or so I felt, because the Côté Square restaurant features outstanding food and looks into a green garden surrounded by Paris-like architecture), a photo session, a long sleep, and then the next day a gym session, a delicious breakfast and a mini cruise on a Belle Époque boat to the pretty Medieval village of Yvoire! It sounds like a lot, but it was a relaxing, slow program. Hotel Bristol Geneva is a real oasis of peace and calm in the middle of the city.
