Credit Suisse Sport Awards 2018
Last night the annual Credit Suisse Sport Awards took place in Zurich – a beautiful occasion to see the best of Swiss sport together and, for me personally, to be inspired. And now please let me biased. After all, this is the year of two women elected for the Federal Council in one go.
Women rocked!
Ok, the boys had also an impressive line-up of champions, and a final very tight competition between Roger Federer and Nino Schurter. But listening to women speaking so openly and refreshingly about their dreams, backstage moments and motivation, and watching them in the elegant version (so different from what we usually see, and yet so complementary) was a perfect way to illustrate today’s women strength and versatility.
Winners
Here the results (decided by popular vote) of the evening:
- Women: Daniela Ryf
- Men: Nino Schurter
- Team: Hockey
- Disabled: Théo Gmür
- Trainer: Patrick Fischer
- Newcomer: Julien Wanders
New Start for the Coming Year
It has been officially announced that Credit Suisse won’t be the event’s sponsor next year. But the date for the follow-up has been given at the end of the evening. So I am very curious to see how this prize will evolve – it’s a very special moment for Swiss athletes and for us audience. Looking forward to the next edition!
